Public Agenda
Public Agenda is a nonpartisan, nonprofit public opinion research and citizen education organization based in New York City. It was founded in 1975 by social scientist and author Daniel Yankelovich and former Secretary of State Cyrus Vance.

ICPSR - A Partner in Social Science Research
The Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR), established in 1962, is an integral part of the infrastructure of social science research. ICPSR maintains and provides access to a vast archive of social science data for research and instruction, and offers training in quantitative methods to facilitate effective data use. To ensure that data resources are available to future generations of scholars, ICPSR preserves data, migrating them to new storage media as changes in technology warrant. In addition, ICPSR provides user support to assist researchers in identifying relevant data for analysis and in conducting their research projects.

Albertans’ Views on Auto Insurance - Public Opinion Poll
In late July 2003 Insurance Bureau of Canada commissioned Pollara Inc., Canada’s largest public opinion and marketing research firm, to conduct a public opinion poll to gauge Albertans’ awareness of the various factors surrounding rising auto insurance rates. The following findings are based on 1,005 interviews conducted with Alberta residents who have reached legal driving age (16). Overall results are accurate to within 3.1%, nineteen times out of twenty.

Canadian Public Opinion and Survey Research
UBC Library is the second largest research library in Canada and includes 21 branches and divisions at UBC and at other locations: three branches at teaching hospitals (St.Paul's, Vancouver Hospital and Health Sciences Centre and Children's and Women's Health Centre of BC) and one at UBC's Robson Square campus in downtown Vancouver. Plans are underway to establish a library at the Great Northern Way Campus on the Finning Lands, in partnership with the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, Simon Fraser University and the British Columbia Institute of Technology.

Canadian Public Opinion Polls on Same-Sex Marriage
A battle has been in progress for years over whether equal rights and equal protection against discrimination should be extended to homosexuals. Recently, this has expanded into the area of same-sex marriage. The core conflict is whether: Marriage should be a special privilege of heterosexuals, and restricted to one man and one woman. This is currently required by law and supported by conservative and most mainline religious institutions in North America, or Whether all adults in loving, supportive, and committed relationships should be allowed to marry or enter into civil unions, regardless of their sexual orientation, as proposed by liberal religious groups and some secular organizations. Since mid-1996, most Canadian adults appear to favor same-sex marriage. Three Courts of Appeal, in British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec, have concluded that denial of marriage to gays and lesbians is unconstitutional.

Canadian Opinion Research Archive
The Canadian Opinion Research Archive makes available commercial and independent surveys to the academic, research and journalistic communities. Founded in 1992, the CORA contains hundreds of surveys including thousands of discrete items collected by major commercial Canadian firms dating back to the 1970s. The CORA is continually adding new surveys and is always soliciting new data from commercial research firms and independent think tanks, research institutes, and NGO's.

The Mystery of Polling
In another article posted here (A Review of the Royal Bank Workplace Survey) I note that a report by Angus Reid Group doesn't give us all the information necessary to evaluate the results of the poll it describes. I have since found by inspection of the websites of other polling companies that in comparison with these other companies the people at Angus Reid are veritable chatterboxes. These other sites post what seem to be press releases, while Angus Reid posted an extensive summary of results.
